CFA® (Chartered Financial Analyst®) Program
The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) credential sets the standard as the most highly respected designation in the investment management profession.
Who is it for?
Portfolio and wealth managers, investment and research analysts, professionals involved in the investment decision-making process, and finance students who want to work in the investment management profession.
How long does it take?
A minimum of three years to complete three exams (Level I, II, and III), assuming four-year work experience requirement is already met.
Candidates must have
- A degree (or be a final-year student of a bachelor’s program) or have a combination of four years (or 48 months) of full-time work experience
- Be prepared to take the examinations in English
If an applicant does not have a degree, qualified professional work experience totaling at least four years may be acceptable. Eligible professional experience for entrance to the programme instead of a degree does not have to be investment related; summer, part-time, and internship positions do not qualify. Employment dates (month and year) and a detailed description of duties for all current and previous positions must be included with the Registration & Enrolment Form.
An applicant may also apply for entrance to the program with a combination of college/ university and professional work experience that totals at least four years (The four-year total must be accrued by the application date). Details must be included with the Registration & Enrolment Form.
Students who confirm that they are in their final year of a degree program may register and enroll for Level I of the CFA® Program. Student candidates can take the Level I exam and receive results, but will not be allowed to enrol for the Level II exam until confirmation of a degree has been provided.
More details can be obtained directly from the CFA Institute.
