I claimed first place after managing to swim 2016 lengths in only 31 days. – Richard Meftah, studied Lincoln Photography and graduated 2014

Financial Analyst Course

What to expect from a Masters in Finance
Typically, a Masters in Finance will last one or two years, depending on the institution and location. Most institutions run Masters in Finance courses with one of the following focuses:

1. To prepare qualified undergraduates for careers in mid- to senior- level financial positions such as in financial analysis, investment management and corporate finance.

2. To help established financial professionals to advance in the workplace, build on and update their skills and knowledge, or change career specialization.

The level of specialization offered varies; some Masters in Finance allow students to study a range of finance topics before choosing a specialization, while others are highly specialized right from the start of the course.

You will be required to attend lectures and seminars, and produce coursework or a thesis in an advanced topic integrating and applying several subjects learnt during the degree program. Students may also need to attend workshops in quantitative methods, create projects to put theory into practice, and go to speakers’ events attended by industry professionals.

In addition to the qualification you will receive from your institution, you may also be able to take high-level professional accreditations such as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exam designed to test candidates’ readiness for the professional finance world. Although the level of content is comparable to a Masters degree, the concept behind the CFA and their examination methods are different although some institutions do embed a significant percentage of the CFA program “Candidate Body of Knowledge” into their degree programs.

Master Digital Marketing

Why do a Masters in Digital Marketing?

According to the UK’s Internet Advertising Bureau, the digital advertising sector in the UK alone was worth £5.4 billion (US$8.3bn) in 2012 – a 12.5% increase on the previous year.

And in a report from EConsultancy (again mainly UK-focused), surveyed companies were spending on average 35% of their total marketing budgets on digital channels, with almost a third dedicating more than half their total budget to digital. Half were planning to recruit more people into their digital marketing teams in 2013, and 71% planned to increase digital spending in 2013, compared to just 20% increasing offline spend.

What do you need to apply for a Masters in Digital Marketing?
Josep-Maria Fàbregas, director of the Master in Direct and Digital Marketing at Pompeu Fabra University’s Barcelona School of Management, says most students on the program have a background in studying business administration, marketing, advertising or PR.

In terms of professional experience, backgrounds are varied, spanning the full spectrum from banking and insurance to travel and tourism, fashion and media to NGOs and education.

Additional desirable qualities for applicants to a Masters in Digital Marketing include: familiarity with key marketing trends and practices, awareness of the importance of digital media and its applications, and a readiness to learn new things – and then keep on learning!

Management Degree

Management degrees give students a broad foundation in topics relating to business, finance, economics and marketing. Most management degrees have a very practical focus, with opportunities to complete work placements and professional projects included as part of the program. For those more interested in the theory which goes into informing policies and best practices in management, there are also more research-orientated management degrees to choose from. And, of course, programs that combine the two.

Whether you want to learn more about management but are unsure about which sector you want to work in, or want to explore a particular management specialization in terms of role (such as human resource management) or industry (such as hospitality management), there are plenty of degrees available to help kick-start your management career.

The demand for management professionals in almost every sector of human activity means you’ll find a vast range of management degree programs available, including many taught as combined honors or joint programs (such as business and management, management and marketing, management and mathematics, management with international business, management with sustainability).

MBA Course Degree

University courses in the fields of business and management are among the most popular worldwide, at both undergraduate and graduate levels of study. Business and management degrees range from broad and comprehensive to highly specialized programs, spanning subjects including accounting, finance, business administration, economics, marketing and management – each of which provides further opportunities for specialization.

At graduate level, the MBA, aimed at those who have already gained significant professional experience in a business and management role, remains a very popular option, and one that continues to promise high returns in terms of career progression. However, many other master’s degrees in business and management subjects are also growing in popularity, typically requiring a lower up-front investment and little to no professional experience, as well as the chance to gain a more specialized qualification.
