Glamis Celebrations

Bras D’eau

The Glamis team organized its annual ‘Heart Walk’ on 15 June 2019 for students, tutors and guests. The venue this year was at Bras d’Eau.

Participants together discovered new places in Mauritius. This event was a way to deepen the bond between the Glamis team, students and tutors. The walk, which was about 5 km long, started at Bras d’Eau Visitors Center to end at Bras d’Eau beach and then back to the Visitors Center. During the walk, we came across the Mauritius Radio Telescope and the first wind turbines at Plaines des Roches.

Mr. Prem Sewpaul, one of our tutors who is also very passionate about photography and video editing captured this awesome journey by drone. Throughout the way, Prem immortalized captivating moments by taking photos, filming and by interacting with the participants.

Black River Gorges Outing

The Glamis Team organized a healthy fun outing: ‘Heart Walk’ on Saturday 14 July 2018 for our students, staff and friends of Glamis. The aim of this first-ever event was to promote exercise as part of a heart-healthy lifestyle. Participants met at the entrance of Black River Gorges near La Balise Marina at Tamarin.

This walk was full of laughter, fun and adventure with a lot of interaction among those present. Participants moved mindfully breathing in “aromas from the trees”, almost adopting the Japanese art of “Shinrin-Yoku” known as ‘forest bathing’. Actually this therapy is said to boost immunity, lower heart rate, enhance mental wellness, reduce blood pressure and stress hormones as well as increase energy and reduce anxiety, depression and anger.

And indeed participants agreed that this walk in the woods did act as a tonic for the mind and body. So get ready for the next ‘Heart Walk’…. which will be organised in the beginning of the year 2019

The End of Year party was a special milestone we wanted to share with the people who have played an important role in our success so far. We also celebrated Yashna’s birthday on that particular day. A memorable day indeed!!

Glamis Business School welcomed its new batch of students on Saturday the 03 August 2019 through an orientation session. This exercise provides comprehensive information on support and facilities that the school offers. It also ensures that new students know where to seek advice in order to prevent small difficulties becoming great difficulties during their programme of study. Moreover, it is a great opportunity for students to get acquainted to their new academic community and understand the level of commitment and standards expected from them.

On that day, a series of activities such the Business Skill Analysis and Team Challenges were held, and it created a friendly bond with the tutors and students. The objective of those games was to create a sense of team work among the students and provide them with an insight of how to tackle a project and plan accordingly. This is a core aspect of the MBA programme. Refreshments and and pastries were served on that day.
